Surface
Engineered Nanoprobes for biomarker monitoring
Successful development of ultra-sensitive
molecular imaging nanoprobes for the detection
of targeted biological objects is a challenging
task. The concept of molecular surface
engineering is critical for the development of
highly uniform and biocompatible nanoparticles
with optimized functional properties, which in
turn can bring technological innovations to
target specific nanoprobing systems. Chikujee
develops ultra-sensitive MR probe systems based
on surface-engineered nanoparticles. In
particular, molecular probes based on targeted
surface engineered nanobindis (SENB), with
strong magnetic properties, will have
considerably enhanced sensitivity for cancer
cell detection and also make the in vivo imaging
of small tumors possible. By using appropriate
cancer targeting molecules, the ultra-sensitive
MR detection of various types of cancers may be
possible. Ultimately, high-performance magnetic
nanoprobing systems could play a pivotal role in
the realtime visualization of other biological
events, such as cell trafficking, cancer
metastasis, cellular signaling and interactions
at the molecular and cellular level.
