Cancer is a group of diseases driven by abnormalities in fundamental cell processes and characterized by uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells.  In the U.S., cancer is the second leading cause of death, with 550,000 deaths and 1,400,000 new cases expected annually according to the American Cancer Society.  New drug approvals are slow, and the mainstay of treatment remains older chemotherapy agents, many of which are associated with significant side effects.  Our ability to dramatically improve on efficacy and side effect profiles of existing chemotherapeutic agents represents an enormous opportunity for Chikujee’s Drugs on Target ^TM technology platform. Chikujee’s initial product pipeline is focused on commercializing it Generics to Brand ^TM product line. Using the accelerated regulatory approval pathway for currently marketed chemotherapy agents that are out of patent protection, we expect to commercialize our novel class of targeted therapeutics within the next three to four years.
